Thanks for this report.  This is surprisingly tricky code--even without
looking at it I know that it can't be fixed for Leo 4.4.8 final.  I'll put
it on the list to fix for Leo 4.5.  In other words, I'll fix it in the trunk
or devel branches just after releasing 4.4.8 final.
