The average citizen can be forgiven for making this kind of mistake.
It's an example of being mislead by non-scientific thinking that often
works well.  However, those who presume to have an opinion on this
subject, like climate skeptics, get no free pass.

And it should go without saying that lobbyists and policy makers must
be held strictly accountable for this mistake.  It is evidence of the
worst kind of incompetence.
