Thanks for this info. My own opinion, a guess really, is that it will take 6 month or more for the Python community to settle comfortably into Python 3k. The Python folk have done a great job, but many developers (including me) have been waiting for Python 3.0 final to come out before doing the real porting work. So I expect many bugs to be reported in the next few months.
