Please do the following:

in guiPlugins.leo, in the node

Other guis-->@thin tkGui.py-->frame classes-->class
leoTkinterTree-->Drawing... (tkTree)-->Entry points
(tkTree)-->tree.redraw_now & helper

set trace = True.

The reload your problem file.  Are there more than the expected number of
redraws?
