I was going to say for clones, but maybe clones don't rely on gnxs. Other things do, but perhaps those things don't have to work in @thin files. Not keeping gnxs seems destructive though. - I noticed the other day that currently (whatever that means :) the gnx of the top level node of a @thin or @edit tree seemed to be lost on load, but not the gnxs of subtree nodes.
