I think Matt meant more dense as in closer to contiguous black blocks and 
harder to visually separate and count.

I suspect I will continue to avoid sentinels simply because the ascetic of 
python code is part of the appeal of python to me, but of course that's not 
relevant to the refinement of sentinels for those that like them.
