I know there aren't a lot of systems where drivespace is a scarcity, but this still seems a little wanton :-) What about all the editors where they don't just disappear? I think Emacs wraps by default. And in the editors where they are hidden, I could see them getting deleted by accident quite a bit too. If I have too much whitespace in between some defs in a regular editor and I drag select / delete the extra lines, couldn't I easily merge some nodes? Not sure what they'll look like in diff guis, either.
