It pads to the column 100, but remember that @+node sentinels contain
leading indentation, @+node, level dots and the headline, so maybe 50
bytes per node.

The file size will not be significantly larger because quite a few
sentinels will disappear, including @-node sentinels.

Yes, this is a possibility, but sentinels are still clearly marked with #...@.

This has always been a danger.  Nothing new now.

Here we are, now, complaining that gnx's have disappeared :-)

It's trivial to change this scheme.  I just wanted to report on the
initial impression.

Perhaps leaving gnx's where they are, on the left, will be the best
clue that lines containing them are special.

After the initial changeover, the diffs will be affected only by
changes in headlines, or level stars.

The new sentinel scheme must use traditional gnx's.  The only question
is where they will appear.
