There is always a way :-) I'm assuming you don't have the .leo file in a version control system. Otherwise you could just revert it. Do you have any recent backups? I so, you can diff the backup against your "bad" file, and look for changes. That might tell you where the dubious changes are. The "bad leo file" message might also give some clues.
