I haven't tried this, but from using trunk Leo I find the idea of
'focus'
already too confusing and complicated, it has focus-to-{tree,nav,log}
and you also have to keep track which bindings are in which pane.

A flexible window layout is certainly a good idea though, but maybe
the focus can be simplified to just body-editors and the minibuffer?!
Relatedly, I tried bindings for the tree pane and the current vim
bindings
which left a sour taste (some bindings wouldnt work at all when I just
used
the ! all pane specifier, I had to do ! tree and ! body separately.
