I think so, although I don't think loading from the command line is relevant.  
qttabs just uses tabs wherever the regular version uses separate windows.  I 
use it all the time, generally I have 4-5+ outlines open, much better in tabs.

Although it's tempting to make the free-layout apparatus swallow these tabs the 
same way it swallows tabs from the log pane, I don't really think that would be 
all that useful, and certainly very confusing.

qttabs has a tab detach which is handy, it would be perfect if detached tabs 
could be reattached :-)
