I'm thinking of single string.

E.g. "story", "experience", "bug", "task", "todoitem", "email"...

I'm actually also thinking of list of strings, but not sure whether
it's a good idea. Single string would be good for performance too -
when rendering a tree, only one dict lookup is needed in inner loop to
dispatch class specific icon / heading style selection.
