I can't speak in generalities.  All I know is that both 11.04 and
11.10 caused me to lose wireless capabilities.  There may be an on/off
switch, though why it should be off is beyond comprehension.

There may be a problem with my wireless driver , but both 11.04 and
11.10 state that the driver is installed and working correctly.

As for Python, I want to update to 11.x so that I'll have access to
Python 3.2.  There are significant problems with Python 3.1 for some
packages, and it does not appear easy or safe to attempt to install
Python 3.2 on 10.10.

YMMV on all aspect of the above.
