At present, Leo creates one or more files in ~/.leo when Leo is first run. It seems like Leo should also create .leoRecentFiles at that time. Does anyone have any reason why that would be a bad idea?

So long as there is a check to make sure the file doesn't already exist, I see no problems with that. Though, it should also be noted in the log - "No .leoRecentFiles found, creating one...".
