Yes, I've been tempted to do this.

But technically it's a bit weird, because all the important Aha's get
edited out of the result!!

Here are the key points. As you will see, they involve what happens
*before* you start editing, so how do you show them?

1. Set up a script which opens your subject in a fixed, optimal, size.

For me, this is demo.bat:

python27 launchLeo.py --no-cache --gui=qttabs
--window-size=682x1264 <list of .leo files> %*

The main thing is that the window size results in an *actual* window size
of 720x1280 as Camtasia sees it. I think this important.

Having a demo script also makes it possible to patch in additional material
when (not if) I forget something.

2. When you record, remember that **it doesn't matter** if you flub audio.
The only thing that matters is that you **realize** that you have done so.
Just **pause**, and retake the audio as many times as you need.

The main thing: you can *not* fix audio flubs later: you *must* have a
clean take of everything you want to say.

3. Similar remarks apply to video, but in my experience it's much easier to
get the video right. If you do flub the video, it will be much easier if
you just retake the audio at the same time, so it's in synch with the
video. With Camtasia, you can separate the audio and video tracks, but
usually that won't work, especially if there is audio of key clicks.

4. Contrary to what the Camtasia tutorials imply, I find it easy enough to
work without a script. It feels a lot more natural to me. When I get
stuck, I just pause. Or just start over. Otoh, it wouldn't be that hard
to read a script. Just *pause* before and after each phrase. Never rush
your audio!

In short, the key Aha: insert (audio) pauses *everywhere* as needed. It's
easy to edit them out. It's virtually impossible to edit in the middle of
words, even with the world's best audio editor.

HTH. I'll use these as some kind of documentation. Actually, now that I
write this, some kind of screencast *would* be possible. It will have a
lot of pauses :-)
