It shows that in its tittle (Not Responding), and stops updating the
gui information. So would then your fix solve that too? or should Leo
inform Windows that its still a responding program? :\

I'm assuming (as I have no knowledge of Windows' inner workings) that
Windows tags it as inactive due to lack of GUI updates in a certain time
period. If that's the case, updating the progress bar would count as a
GUI update, keeping Windows happy.
Just a complete guess, though.
