Some of these questions have prevented me from going into Leo file
management.
This, along with a few other recent topics (the refresh-from-disk bugs,
etc) have made me think that Leo is missing an important piece of
functionality from other editors: checking if a file has changed
external to Leo, and offering to reload it if it has. This could be an
idle hook.
Geany is a great example of an editor that does this.
