Leo 5.0a1 is now available at:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/leo/files/Leo/

I plan to announce a1 only here, so that any release problems will be
confined to existing Leo users. I would appreciate it if you would try
installing from the executable installer on Windows, or from the zip file
on other platforms. Please report *any* new problem, no matter how large
or small, immediately.

Notes:

1. I myself am seeing very strange behavior when selecting Python33 with
the executable installer--the Leo button doesn't work properly. This may
be a previous registry problem having nothing to do with the install.
Selecting Python27 during the install works fine, as does doing pythonNN
launchLeo.py from the installed folder. Clearly, the problem is with the
button or registry, not the installed folder.

2. The a1 release does not include Matt's recent fix for setup.py. This
will be included in all future releases.

3. Unless serious bugs are reported against a1, the next release (b1) will
happen in about 10 days.
