​Curiouser and curiouser.  I am almost positive I did indeed see the
behavior you describe, but now I don't!

As an additional check, I created an internal a3 release and installed it.
All files opened fine from the Help, File and Recent Files menus.

I am going to "table" this issue...

Anyone else see the Lewis's behavior on Python 3.x?
