It should be noted that this "fix" leaves several plugins impotent. The
broken state of several of these plugins (which are easy to find with a
search within the plugins directory) are what caused my initial frustration
and led me to search for answers. As I noted using headdclick is not a
replacement for icondclick as that handler exhibits inconsistent behavior.

If this is going to be the accepted "fix" then these plugins should not be
included with Leo or moved to a "Legacy Plugins" folder just for reference.
*Their
inclusion is misleading and again bad advertising*.

It should be one of any software's main goals to work "out of the box".
These "Legacy Plugins" do not meet that requirement. In fact all plugins
included with Leo should have to pass some sort of unit testing before
inclusion to ensure they don't lead to new users viewing Leo as "broken". I
don't think the plugins affected by iconclick event handlers are the only
plugins which have fallen into disrepair.

It should be Leo's job to notify plugin writers when their plugin's break
due to breaking API changes but the plugin writers' job to maintain their
plugins.
