Given the class name, the decorator could get the instance from g.cmd_instance_dict. This would eliminate the need for per-class decorators. This is excellent collaboration. I've been focused on other aspects of decorators, especially g.command. I'm glad you have pressed ahead. I'll try to fold what you have done into the existing framework.
