I have been struggling just to write down the flood of thoughts recently pertaining to "new directions for Leo". Here, I'll briefly discuss the highlights. We need this overview first so that we don't immediately drown in details.
1. Clones are, in fact, *just fine* as they are. The problems I cited with clones are actually problems with the search command. I'll discuss new ideas about find in another thread. 2. Many people use hoists or chapters instead of clones to restrict their attention to a subset of the data in an outline. I'll discuss the pros and cons of this approach in another thread. 3. There is a close relationship between views and attributes. Indeed, *attributes create views*, and vice versa. Examples: bookmarks, chapters, Nav pane results, clone-find-all results, whatever. There is lot's more to say on this topic. Yet another thread. 4. Multi-threaded trees may become part of Leo, but they don't seem to be all that important in what has just been discussed.
