When the weather is warm I love to walk and daydream. That's how many of my best ideas have arisen.
I often do mindfulness meditation early in the morning, say 4 or 5 a.m. Several days ago I allowed myself to daydream about recent Leo issues. So many thoughts arose that I brought in post-it notes to record them. As with a daydreaming walk, this allows me not to worry about remembering them, so new thoughts can arise. I like to meditate in the dark in the early morning, so each time a new thought arose I would get up, turn on a light, sit back down, record the thought, get back up, turn off the light, sit back down and continue :-) Typically a new thought would arise almost immediately, so I would repeat the process. I experimented with leaving the light on, but I found that annoying. Besides, there is something kinda neat about the stand up/sit down routine. When all thoughts seem to have appeared I can move back into real mediation. In short, the combination of mediation and stand up/sit down stimulates lots of relevant thoughts. So many that I now number each post-it note so that I don't worry about order. The great thing about this process is that I can do it now, in the middle of winter. No beach required! I recorded yesterday's thoughts in leoPy.leo. I'll be integrating them with today's thoughts asap.
