Correction: as far as I heard, Python 3 is already the default on the currrent Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I was under the wrong assumption that Python 2 is the default, because when I upgraded from 16.04 LTS to 18.04 LTS the default Python installation did not change from 2 to 3.
