This is an exciting time for python, now that webasm <https://webassembly.org/> promises to open browsers to "native" apps in languages other than JS. We've discussed these trends here recently. For me, Almar Klein leads the way. We'll see where it leads... Having said all this, I rather doubt that the Jupyter project needs much help...
