Thanks! I'll have another look tomorrow. >, if you just want to play with Lego > then I recommend the last stable version. I thought I needed to use the piece-manager, and went for the trunk when all else failed. And I thought patches/reports would be more appreciated on the trunk. I want to learn more about C++/Linux/Open Source/... (and like Lego), and think practice is the only way forward. Why not by adding features to Leocad? But I have a long way to go. My first issue was that I needed to patch generated ldr files (changing ',' to '.' in all floats, and .DAT to .dat, and change to use the right pieces when ldraw knew them, but not Leocad (no piece manager)) - to be able to view the models ln LDView. I don't think generated files should depend on locale (I dislike that part of xml as well). I had a few other ideas that I thought I could implement myself as well. > BTW, how did you fix the Gdk bad match error? I remember seeing that one > before but I don't remember what the fix was. I didn't do anything. I'm using a freshly installed Kubuntu Hardy Heron, with the latest version of everything (I think...). I had problems installing the NVidia driver, but finally got everything working (except for the system crashing whenever I open the screen resolution dialog). Are you interested in som details of my installed versions ? Which ones? >From an earlier reply: > I believe the Pieces Library Manager wasn't implemented for the Linux > version, most functions are cross platform but I never had time to add the > dialog itself. I wish I had used QT or wxWidgets instead of GTK and have the > GUI code shared between all platforms so this wouldn't be an issue. Isn't GTK usable on all platforms? Is it just too ugly on windows? I'm a bit interested in learning Qt. Not sure I'll get the time though. /$ _______________________________________________ Leocad mailing list [email protected] https://list.gerf.org/listinfo/leocad
