Yes, selecting a group can have a surprising behaviour:
If you select a group (combletely visible) then go back to a
step when all its pieces are not yet visible and you move it,
only the pieces present in the current step are moved. And if
you ”step forward”, you can see that the newly visible pieces of
the group are not selected anymore. (Same behaviour with not-
grouped pieces in a multiple selection.)
But if you go to a “backward” step first and then select the
group, all the pieces are selected, even those that are not yet
visible.

In other words, going back in the timeline deselects pieces
(the not-yet-visible ones).

It becomes more complicated when you use this “feature” to
hide some pieces of the group before modifying the group....

I see two more intuitive / less surprising behaviours:
- either the pieces should not be removed from the selection
when going back to a step when they are not yet visible (should
also apply with multiple selection),
- or selecting a group should not select pieces of the group
that are not yet visible in the current step (as when selecting
several not-grouped pieces).
