Other lists I had subscribed to without any problem. -------------------------- body of email ------------------------ My first email (07.07.04) run:

I was looking for another email pointing to the same problem. The email I found while looking for UTF-8 support. But I had made a print copy, so I cite some lines from this copy:
>To : [EMAIL PROTECTED] >From : Juliusz Chroboczek <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Cc : [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: Hello world in UTF-8/X11 >Date : 17 Jan 2003 > >MR>I have a Motif/Lesstif-based program that I'd like to >MR>internationalize and needs to display a UTF-8 encoded string. > >You'll need to write your own Unicode widgets.(...) >I would strongly recommend that you port your application >to Gtk+ 2. > >Juliusz
Now you should see that I did not ask: is anybody out there who does not love the *tif-toolkit. The question is more something like: is the *tif-toolkit ready for the future?
Compiling against libc4 may be an enterprise. But as long as the toolkit does not support UTF-8, it seems to be "strongly recommended to use GTK+ 2".
