Richard Stallman posted a comment on the "open sourceing" of Motif. And
you seem to be a victim of what the OpenGroup was willing to spread
: the idea that Motif was now Open Source.
OpenMotif is not Free Software and doesn't qualify either as "Open
Source". If you want a really free toolkit, you should use Lesstif
instead, which works with a lot of Motif applications and which *does*
qualify as free software.
Free software permits commercial use of the software without any further
restriction than non-commercial use. This is not true with OpenMotif
which becomes proprietary when your package is commercial.
So, please, don't use OpenMotif as long as it does not quality as free
software since your usage of it could lead to encourage people to
install non-free software on their system.
