Well, ddd is not your friend on an old, weak machine ...
I can confirm this for lesstif with the new vs fix.
Try selecting a few words in a single line (hold Btn1)
in either forward or backward direction. Backwards (towards
the beginning) it ends up with the expected result, otherwise
it selects/highlights the rest of the text.
