There is something odd currently, but not sure who the culprit is here.
Hvae you tried with Motif?
Closing grace with some window manager stuff (I don't have an 'X'
here ...) I got the following with a Motif/DU version of grace (as of
CVS):
XIO: fatal IO error 54 (Connection reset by peer) on X server
"migdal.ikp.physik.tu-darmstadt.de:0.0"
after 9060 requests (9059 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
