Well, but this is what happens:

Grace opens with its main window.
Clicking on the Canvas, opens the "Axis Appearance" window, which
is, what I would call, a sub-window of the main application.
When I use the "X"-close of the window manager for this sub-window,
the whole application quits.

The "explicit kill" kills ALL windows of the application, not just
the one it should.
