1) We are (hopefully ...) talking about the libXp which is a different animal.
libXp may or may not come with your X11 libraries/server. You won't be able
to _easily_ get it elsehwere (well, as opposed to libXpm which one often has to
install manually).
2) add --disable-build-21 to the commandline and given that the developers
meanwhile get things sorted out you won't need the libXp.
3) IIRC we even try to make the 2.1 library built w/o libXp.
In fact currently all we really use from libXp is an interface
to ask for the version - this is all not yet written stuff.
