'configure --help' gives

Directory and file names:
--prefix=PREFIX install architecture-independent files in PREFIX
[/usr/local]
[...]
and other variables for the installation (libdir, includedir).
You may want to adjust these settings.
/usr/X11R6/* can't be a single hardcoded since this path does not exist
on all un*x systems ...
