Hi All!
I am just beggining to learn LessTif so you'll have to forgive me if I'm not
quite certain how to phrase this question...
I'm looking at colour resources (XmNcolormap, etc) and font resources
(XmNfontlist, etc) for a program I'm working on (yes, it's a school
assignment but I still think it's worth asking...)
What I'd like to do is the exact opposite of what my references want me to
do. I see that it's pretty straightforward to tell my application "make this
_____ [background, foreground, whatever] blue, or green, or "wheat."
What I want to do, however, is get my application to ask the operating
system, at runtime, what are the names of all the colors available. I would
like the operating system to tell me, basically, "hmmm... I have blue, and
green and white, and aubergine...."
I'd also like to do the same for fonts. I don't want to tell the program
"use a courier font" I want the application to tell me "these are the fonts
I have available".
I've spent several hours looking through my reference materials but am no
closer to an answer. Any suggestions?
