So what?
sys/dirent.h is not a header conforming to any standard I'm aware of ...

To comply to "all" standards (from BSD 4.2, SYSV <=4th ed. to any more recent one)
#include <sys/types.h>
#include <dirent.h>
is sufficient. More recent UNIX specifications will have the first one
even no longer as mandatory.

In any case we would need a comment on whether the _current_ source tree builds
on cygwin or not.
