lesstif-0.92.3.tar.*
is supposed to be latest and greatest currently.
Hmm, can you check whether you got the full archive and did
not attempt an download while it was being uploaded?
I did just successfully build that tarball on a linux box here around.
(yes, taken from ftp.lesstif.org)
