Thanks, I think I got it meanwhile.
The sad fact is that the script (see scripts/) had several test runs which all ended
with some minor glitchs and subsequent fixes. Finally I/we ran out of time and
the release was made using a script which never had a 100% successful run
in the current version ...
(The idea was to release it a few days in advance before christmas which
worked out - except when it tunr out that we messed up more than just
the announcements)
