Hi,
I am a linux newbie trying to install lesstif for the
purpose of installing gnu ddd. I downloaded 0.92.26, ran
'configure, and 'make clean'. The system did not report any errors. So I assume the
installation was successful.

However when I try to install ddd with the --with-motif-lib, with-motif-includes, it
always complains that it cannot find -lXm.

My suspicison is that I have not installed my lesstif properly. How do I tell that I
have all the required lesstif portion installed?

These are the contents of my directory.
/home/harihar/lesstif-0.92.26 > ls
AUTHORS KNOWN_BUGS RELEASE-POLICY config.log install-sh scripts
BUG-REPORTING Makefile acconfig.h config.status lib tags
COPYING Makefile.am acinclude.m4 config.sub libtool test
COPYING.LIB Makefile.in aclocal.m4 configure ltconfig
CREDITS NEWS clients configure.in ltmain.sh
ChangeLog NOTES config.cache doc missing
INSTALL README config.guess include mkinstalldirs

The path I specify when installing ddd is:

--with-motif-lib=/home/harihar/lesstif-0.92.26/lib/Xm-2.1
--with-motif-includes=/home/harihar/lesstif-0.92.26/includes/Motif-2.1/Xm

And it complains about cannot find -lXm .

I hope someone would help me out with this issue.
Thanks for your time.
harihar
