Mmm, the OP said the MBsystem package "requires MOTIF". I assume that means it requires binary compatibility with what is the 'normal' Motif on SUSE, which I dont know. If MBsystem was compiled with Lesstif, fine. But if it is another distro of Motif, problems are likely, and I would recommend installing MBsystem *from source*.
