Val-

I have been having a lot of trouble with Yahoo emails in general. In fact, I will bet that if you use EIMS ADMIN right now, and look at your Outgoing Mail (CMD:4) queue you will see at least a few Yahoo emails just sitting there. With mine, I see them sitting there for days. Sometimes I see lots and lots and they sit there for days. If I try to send the queues using EIMS ADMIN (with CMD:S) they will eventually go to Yahoo. FOR EIMS, I set up a special rule in preferences for Yahoo.com EIMS preferences Sending Setup --- with different timeout, expire and requeue --- with limited success. Not sure how to do this in LR?

I see this (Outgoing Mail queues) with domains where they have a mail server(s) down for a while. I suspect that Yahoo is just way over taxed, broken down, under sized, etc.

The Yahoo issue causes lots of problems for me as a listmaster and postmaster. But, it really stinks for my customers who use Yahoo for email!

Yahoo Emails Not Retrying and Addresses Not In Queue

Running LR 4.07 on OS 9. When we attempt to deliver emails to Yahoo, we
often get the following error:

09/15 16:17:02 [423] - smtp send: ERROR!! SMTP error, LetterRip
sent:"DATA" .... server responded:"451 mta156.mail.re2.yahoo.com
Resources temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. [#4.16.4:190]."

This is a typical error from Yahoo and emails will normally deliver on a
retry. However, I have now discovered that since we upgraded from LR
4.05 (0818) to LR 4.07, these Yahoo emails are not retrying and are not
listed in the mail queue for the specific outgoing message (outgoing
message is listed in the queue with other addresses).

Has anyone else seen this problem or have any information? Guess I will
downgrade until I get further info.

thanks,
