Letterrip 4 will give you a list each day in your daily statistics for each e-mail address that bounced. You can easily copy and past that list into an e-mail admin message to unsubscribe those addresses. What Letterrip 4 will not do is keep some sort of database and have it automatically unsubscribe after so many failed attempts.

Ok, now with that list I can at least manually do some database appends and perhaps easily do some analysis that will allow me to not remove names that are just bouncing for a few days. Perhaps there well be enough info that I can create a list of addresses that have bounced for over a week. At least this is better than v3

It also will not tell you the difference between a hard bounce (user does not exist) or a soft bounce (user is over quota).

Dang. I'd like to think that this wouldn't be all that hard. I do see in the log indications that an email address is not real.

But the problem I'm thinking is now the issue is that: How would I be able to easily remove the bad email addresses from any or all lists that it is included in? Or would I have to do this analysis on a list by list basis? Argh

These are features that I am desperately looking for. I have not been able find anything that will do what Ineed except for Mailman.

LR 4 doesn't do ANY automatic bounce handling. Jud had said he'd

The home page for LetterRip says:

        Much improved bounce handling features

Is this not true?

With my servers being able to run Mac OS 9 or OS X, I'm wanting to
figure out just what does Ver 4 do for me?

The elimination of bad or bounced email is the only thing that I'm
really interested in.

What are my options?

What does LR 4 do for automatic elimination of addresses that LR 3
does not do?
