After moving from v3 to v4, I am noticing differences in the Outgoing
mail box.
Before in v3, it seemed that if I restarted LRP, the Outgoing
directory would always get renewed with todays date and time. Now it
seems that the stuff that is in the Outgoing queue keeps the original
date. Is this supposed to be?
I am also not seeing the Log Window processing the mail in a way that
will reduce these posts from the Outgoing queue. It seems to be so
very busy trying to get mail out to obviously wrong addresses and also
spending a lot of time attempting to receive mail from unauthorized
persons who are not allowed to post.
The bounce digests seem to have a worthy amount of information in them
to allow me to automagically create some bounce emails for the server.
But then too, I've been teased by the thoughts of this same
information also appearing in the Daily Statistics emails. The problem
is that I've yet to see a Daily Statistics post with good information
in it yet. My biggest list with about 9,000 addresses showed the Daily
Statistics with no bounce or unsubscribe suggestions. This should be
near impossible to be.
Quitting and restarting Letterrip should have no effect on the outgoing
queue. There is a new command in the admin to examine the contents of
the outgoing queue. That should let you know exactly what's going on.
As for the daily statistics, let it go another day and if you don't get
anything worthwhile, send me some of your bounce digests and I'll see if
anything is out of the ordinary.
