I would have thought that an open address list would be opened read only
and polled occasionally to see if it changed, and then reloaded when
changes occurred.
Hi Dan,
I had a situation lately that might be related and shed some light on
to LetterRip's behaviour with open admin functions.
I was updating an address list by importing a new set of entries from
a text file. It appeared to simply not work as I had it, the list
remained unchanged, so I was massaging the text file into different
formats (return separated, comma separated, tab separated.) Nothing
helped!
Then closing the list and reopening it I found my list had grown 3x
what it 'should' have been! In other words, I had to close and reopen
the address list before I could see if my import 'took.' (I was very
happy for the 'find duplicates' function at this point!)
The Admin program works so seamlessly that I expect it to behave like
a simple text program on my local machine. In fact I am in Germany
and my server is in Montreal so it does make sense that it needs to
update - and it seems this is not a continuous process as I am
working, but rather a 'save on close' kind of situation.
Regards, Devesh
