doesn't sound like you are really using the server as a server though.
incoming via POP3 and outgoing via another SMTP server.
i doubt that is the way most people are running LetterRip. and since
the problem is related to the networking code itself i can see why you
might not actually see the problems... you are barely using that
aspect of the server.
