I'm running on Leopard without problem.
Just make sure you're sending all emails thru one single SMTP server (in
my case it is a local EIMS Server). In that case LR works perfectly for
me, and as soon as I switch back to letting LR distribute the messages
directly to the recipient SMTP Server it hangs after a couple of hours.
My Leopard config: Mac Mini PPC, Leopard 10.5.5
