Summary: Makeswap command bad
Product: Linux From Scratch
Version: SVN
Platform: PC
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: Book
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
QAContact: [email protected]
This is actually from SVN-20051217 which came on the pre2 livecd.
Section 2.3 states to use the "mkswap -v /dev/[yyy]" command, -v is not a good
or valid mkswap flag. The options are v0 and v1, v0 produces an old format swap
which is bad from what I got, and -v makes mkswap use v0.
Hope I'm not crazy, but it gave me a problem for a second when mkswap kept
creating a 133000KB swap instead of 1.6 gigs, turned out -v was forcing v0 and
that was the problem.
Hope I'm not nuts and this helps.
