Well, maybe "broken" is a bit harsh. The Dovecot dev's have apparently
taken the soft option of not including the fallbacks that other
inotify-using app' developers have (wisely) included. If that is their
prerogative then so be it, but they're not doing Dovecot users any favors.
I remember having an argument with a guy about this ~February. All the
other applications I've used that use inotify, notably gnome-vfs and
beagle, provide local copies of the inotify headers. See this comment
from the gnome-vfs code.
