#1912: Possible bad interaction of udev rules for duplicate devices --------------------------------------------+------------------------------- Reporter: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Owner: [email protected] Type: defect | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: 6.3 Component: Book | Version: SVN Severity: normal | Keywords: --------------------------------------------+------------------------------- Since I have never built LFS-SVN > 6.2, the information below should be treated as unconfirmed.
It seems that LFS-SVN installs udev-103 with extras/rule_generator unconditionally enabled. This installs the stock rule generators and their udev rules. Later in the book, on the "Creating Custom Symlinks to Devices" and "Configuring the network Script" pages, ther reader is told to write his own udev rules for CD-ROM drives and network cards. The problem is that these two approaches conflict, and only one of them should be enabled on a given system. -- Ticket URL: <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/ticket/1912> LFS Trac <http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/> Linux From Scratch: Your Distro, Your Rules. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-book FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
