I browse headers using pan and d/l some binaries to sample here as well. 
If you're heading for the bigger groups (dvd, lossless-sounds etc.) pan 
gobbles up lots of memory and I would recommend 1Gb Ram at least to 
avoid swapping when sorting the headers. The reason I don't use pan to 
download all binaries is because I haven't figured out how to make it 
assemble incomplete files and it will assemble files that have corrupt 
segments (which I don't want). Hence I use brag to download, which 
gives me greater control over the decoding part and furthermore lets me 
run things in the background. For posting I use ypost.
